Scrappy Monday + some post birthday sharing..

Papers from Webster 6 by 6 papers (Email me if you wish to purchase one), Frame from Tattered Angels, Rose resin applique (Coming up in my etsy soon!), Tea stained seam binding (my etsy), pin from Jenni Bowlin, mirror charm (selling soon in one of my kits soon) and ticket stubs (selling soon in my etsy store), stamped sentimenets from Papertrey ink
I seem to be more of a cardmaker these days..
Not sure why, making cards give me a bigger sense of satisfaction than a layout.
I love to give cards to people I care about, letting them know how much I love and appreciate them.
So, if I ever give you a card, do know I made the card with you in mind! :)
The roses were showcased before they, like beauty, wither and die.
I love those roses no matter what..
They're the sweetest gifts I receive for my birthday this year..
It's a hush affair this year as I step into my mid twenties..
How time flies..
I feel like I stop growing at 18 though. LOL
I still do the things I did when I was 18.
Still wearing that winnie the pooh pyjamas to sleep,
still making pouty faces whenever I like it,
still a little tactless when speaking to people,
still digging late night suppers and haagen daz ice cream,
still gushing over receiving roses,

still behaving like a kid in the candy store when I see beautiful papers, ribbons and anything pretty,
The only thing that changes is age.

Till I see wrinkles, that'll be all.
The age of a woman doesn't mean a thing.
The best tunes are played on the oldest fiddles.

thinking of you..

Where has the long weekend gone?!
I have a million plans but only half accomplished.
Not too bad I guess.
The seam binding task is not yet completed.
Details will be up in a few days' time I promise!

So the weekend is spent catching up with old friends over karaoke and spending tons of time (by my standards) with the boyfriend!
He's still not very happy that I didn't spend ALL my time with him so I made him a little card to cheer him up! lol
Papers from Webstere pages (lullaby lane), butterfly & border punched from Martha Stewart, crochet flower and lime green crysanthemum flower from stash, stamps of sentiment, clouds and rainbow from Papertrey ink stamp set (Up, up & away), ink from Rangers distress ink.Sorry to side track, I just have to gush about my papertrey ink stamps!
Super versatile to use on cards!
This is my favourite card so far.. with my favourite lullaby lane papers from Websters and those lovely stamped images..
I hesitated for a long time before deciding to give this to the disgusted-with-me-for-liking -the-card-more-than-him boyfriend.
I'm glad I did.
The boyfriend is more important than any card in the world right?

Okay, so where was I?
Back to how my long weekend was spent.. yups.
Time had been well-spent I must say!
Scrapping took a backseat as I'm in the midst of setting up a blogshop selling clothes and accessories with my friends!
You can tell how excited I am about it by spilling the beans right here!

Before Scrapbooking took over my life, clothes and shoes and earrings and pots of colours were my everything!
I loved to dress up and play with make up, experiment with new looks and shop non stop!
It was on a looooong hiatus, can't remember how long though.. that I stopped splurging on those vanities.
Oh, the shopping didn't stop.
It merely changed direction. haha
to papers and ribbons and flowers, inks and everything pretty!

I'm back to befriending my trunks of clothes parked in my closet and trying the 100th pair of shoes in the shop.
No worries, the scrap hoarding will continue, especially when the CHA release is just too tempting for anyone to resist!

These are my favourites from Websters pages, they're such darlings to churn out beautiful designs every release.
I know of no other brand that blows me away like it does!
What're some of your favourite CHA release products?
I wanna know! :)

PS: For those who are interested in joining the papertrey ink spree, the deadline to submit your orders is 16th August. Their sale of their new release is on the 15th and I'm aiming to pocket some of their new stamps!
Email me at wuling_18@hotmail.com if you've more questions regarding the shipping cost!

Scrappy Sunday #1

Hi!

I'm pleased that I made it here in the wee hours of the morning.
It's our first Scrappy Sunday remember? :)

The simplest layout I've done so far!
Sometimes, it's more difficult to do simple layouts than complicated ones.
Just have this impulse to pile on more pretty embellishments.
And for the very first time, I stopped and decided this is enough.
I'm amazed at the self control I have, only wish it extends to my obsession with shopping!
Papers, flowers, swirls, tag, and even the muscial notes background stamp are from Prima!

I love Sundays.
Sunday is the ONLY day my boyfriend can hang out with me since I teach every other day.
Sunday is the day I can sing praises to our Mighty Father in heaven.
Sunday is a lovely day to relax and watch the world go by.
Having Scrappy Sundays is another reason to love Sundays!

So, leave the worries of the following week and pre-Monday blues aside and enjoy your Sunday!
Denim maxi dress from Bonito Chico, denim wedges from Far East Plaza, Hat from 77th Street, Sunglass from Black Raisins
Feel like heading to the beach to chill later.
How are you spending your long weekend so far?

Ten thankful things

1
you, for being such wonderful readers.
For not forgetting this little humble blog of mine though I was MIA for a month!

2
this supportive and inspiring network that allows me to anchor my life upon.

3
every single sweet comment, email or facebook msg that shows you care.
Believe it when I say I drop everything possible to reply you.

4
having these wonderful friends who fill my life with laughter

5
having her for the whole World cup month
along with these girls and muscular boy to take care of us throughout the nights!

for the shoes which kept me awake every World cup night.

6
the photography class I attended, which is really eye-opening!
I'm the awkward-looking bespectacled forlorn-looking girl smacked right in the middle of nowhere!

7
for having these pretty cousins to perk up my life!
Ebell, 12
Kang Ling, 15
Wei Ling, 30s

8
this room that I can't live without
Messy but I love!

9
this man who loves me unconditionally, not.
He wants me to love him back. lol

10
a faithful God who loves me unconditionally.
It's a shame when people like us 'love' Him conditionally.

We may not understand God's plans for us but we have to trust His will. That we will only get stronger. Hold on for God's with us.

This song hit me real hard and if you're a believer, it should hit you too.
God doesn't give you everything you want because you're way beneath Him and his wisdom.
He knows what's best, he always does.

PS: I'm gonna do this on a regular basis too!
We should always be thankful for everything that happens in our life, shouldn't we?

20 09 - 20 10

Hi dearies,

I wanted my first post of the year to be a good one, thus I spent almost 3 days coming up with this really long post!

Sorry for missing in action but life has really been crazy with the recruitment of new students.
God has been so good to me really, the number of students I'm teaching this year is doubled!
With the slow economy and retrenchment going around, I'm so very thankful for such an overwhelming response!
Then again, I am so afraid of having less time for the already neglected boyfriend and scrapping!!
Sigh such is life!

2009 has been one of the most hectic yet fulfilling year for me.
When I sat down to make a list of the highlights of the past year, most memories left me feeling all bittersweet inside.
I wonder if you've experienced the same feeling.

Here comes the list of the highlights of 2009, maybe I'll post my favourite projects of 2009 later, just like what Stacy has done! Have I told you before that I'm a great fan of her work?!

In 2009,

I graduated from NUS

I graced many interesting events as a Miss Earth ambassador.

I must say it's an eye-opener from cleaning up mangroves to holding cocktail glasses at chi-chi private events.

at the Barefoot Walkathon to raise funds for the needy in developing countries

at the launch of Segway, an environmentally-friendly form of transport for commuters

of course, meeting Jackie Chan was a bonus! :)

hosting for a roadshow in Chinatown point to create awareness for the green movement,

with my co-host!

We passed on our titles to the 2009 Miss Earth winners
waiting for the winners to be announced!

I won Miss Photogenic for Miss International.

Seems like I'm a sucker for pageants. lol

It's a fun experience but I'll most probably stop at this.

I got my very first car!
Okay I look totally unglam without make up here!

anyway I love my seat belt cover!
It's a birthday gift from my jc friends!

I held my dream poolside birthday at Sentosa, only strictly inviting my those who are close to my heart..

I received this
and this
with a 18-105mm lens
from my loving boyfriend!
I can't tell you how excited I am over the camera!!

You can see how lovely the photo of my cards in the previous post turned out. Hee
All thanks to a good camera and sound advice from some of you!
Cheers to the start of my photography journey! :)

I have grown even closer to my students.
We are now movie buddies, board game rivals, tennis and bowling opponents, supper night owls and many more!

I spent the most fun-filled days at Malacca, Malaysia with my cousins and aunts..

I submitted my layouts to a magazine call the first time and was published!

By the way, that happened in November..
I know, I know.. It's way overdue!

Here is the link for the step-by-step instructions for these two layouts.

Best of all, 2009 is special because it is the year God has chosen me.

Knowing him has been so rewarding, because he is always there to catch me when I fall.

Knowing him has been so magical, because he opens up my eyes to the things unseen.

Knowing him has been so wonderful, because he changes me into someone better than I think I can be.

I have never been more blessed for every single thing my Father has given me.

Have you been blessed yet?

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.
I give them eternal life, and they will never perish,
and no one will snatch them out of my hand.
