Where do I begin?

Where do I begin?
I feel like I've been gone from this blog forever.
I've so much to share but just lack the time and energy to do so.
Sharing some pictures taken more than a year ago.
See what good procrastinating skills I've been horning.

My adorable cousins, Klaral & Dallen, looking forlorn with my handmade door hangers!

She's a winner with almost everyone with her coos.
They're formidable!
My sis was pouting because Klaral refused to let her carry!
That's a housewarming party by the way.
Something random, but I love the mantel piece above the TV.
I've not scrapped for a long time too.
I need to get my mojo back!!
Inspiration anyone?

Is that annual blues for real?

Sorry for not blogging as often as I would like to.
I've been holding back most of the time because I'm going through a rough time recently and I am not sure if I want to spoil your day if you're hopping for some inspiration or happy posts.

Well, I'm definitely going to be positive about this so just bear with me while I rant alright? :P

It's a lot to do with my relationship with my loved ones.
I have been working too hard I guess.
I always tell people who tell me to relax that I've a goal, to earn as much as I can so that my Dad can retire right away. If only I am capable enough.
Sadly, it doesn't take any brain to know it will backfire.
Working day and night, not having adequate sleep and even forgetting to take my meals regularly have become the worries of my parents.
I thought that they would be proud to have a daughter working hard to give them a better life but it turned out all wrong.
Then I stopped in my tracks, and realised that I've no one to turn to when I want to relax.
I've been too indulgent in my work that I forgot to make time to bond with friends, family and the boyfriend.
I've idolised working for money and not for God.
What an ugly confession but how real it seems to me right now,
just after a session of quiet time with God.
He is amazing, really.
Makes me see things as clear as day.
So I've decided to relax a little, on weekends.
Not to worry so much about the never-ending work, not to worry about my students' exams too much, not to worry about feeling guilty when I don't work for a day (criteria for a true blue workaholic by the way).

I'm going to make my days more meaningful by just spending the day with my boyfriend at the beach(we've never done that!).
By having a long dinner with my parents without having to rush off to do my work.
Waking up early to go for a run and a swim perhaps?
I've not done such healthy routines for a long, long time..

Tough times don't last, tough people do.
That's my birthday resolution this year.

What do you think? :)

Belated Happy Scrapbooking Day!

As you know from my previous posts, I've been really exhausted these days..
Can't wait for the post-exam break to come!

Just a quick post today to announce the winner of the little card and box kit as mentioned in the last post!

Sindy said...

Your students will definitely enjoy a good time learning scrapbooking from you!

Dear Sindy, I think I've your address (from the prima spree) but do email me if there's any change in that.

My 'Happy Mother's Day' class went really well today!
I've a great time with my 'kids' as always. :)
I'm counting down to the next class at my place in less than 10 hours.

Stay tuned as I'm doing a give away soooooon!
Even my new shelves are giving way.. lol
Did this last week while thinking about how wonderful God is to bring them close to Him.
We went to church for the 2nd time today, things are looking so good, with them asking questions about the bible and looking forward to going to church every Sunday.
Waking up early to attend the sermon with them is totally worth it.
Praise the lord! :)

Dirty Scraps challenge #7 up!

Hey the dirty scraps challenge is up!!
Check out the details over there.
It's a sponsored challenge so do join in the fun!

The drama of being ostracized by friends over a boy,
of being misunderstood all the time,
of being betrayed by close friends,
of being crazy over someone worthless
is finally over!

I don't normally use overlays in my layout but I was tempted by the MWL challenge so I decided to play along with overlays and a grid sketch.
My first try doing a grid with overlays so do excuse for any shortcomings!

I should do more challenges, it just helps me grow as a scrapper and I get more layouts done to justify the amount of damages I've been doing to my pocket!

Are you enjoying your weekend?!
I am!
Just celebrated my Dad's birthday and my aunts and cousins came over to stay for the weekend! I'm basking in their wonderful company! You've no idea how much I miss them!

God bless! :)

Bumming around

The whirlwind of events finally came to a stop today.
And thus the time to settle down and re-acquaint with the internet.

521

That's the number of photos we took in a matter of 5 days!
Me and my new haircut. Love the messy fringe. Hee
My sis and her 'ornamental' bracelet. LOL

We get to entertain ourselves with playing the 'guess the number' game and the losers have to do these...
WARNING: UGLY PICTURES LESS THAN 1 M AWAY

We started friendly.. Lucky aunt and cousin..

And it got out of hand..
Meet Miss Golden nose digger
and Miss Cross-eyed Hippo
The finale - my sexy brother at his best new year outfit

And so the rest of the Chinese New year days were spent rushing a Vday project for my best friend, shopping with my pretty teenage cousin from Taiwan and teaching the cutest 5 and 4 year-olds these lovely projects!
Will be sharing the photos soon!
How's your holiday so far? :)

24 :)

I turned 24 on 22nd October. It's a love-hate relationship.

The love:

1) I've finally gotten my OWN car! It's a Huge relief, becuase it's not for luxury's sake. Going to and fro from Pasir Ris to Bukit Batok almost 4 times a week is taking its toll on me after 5 years of travelling 3 hours each day. Having fainting spells from motion sickness simply devastates the already uncomfortable commuting of having to squeeze in crowded trains and having to catch the last train home after a long day of work. Trust me when I say it's more of a relief than simply showing off.

I know I may sound pious but I've been humbled by Jesus so much that showing off is the last thing on my mind when I do everything nowadays. I think I've been so blessed to have God in my life so that I stay grounded and faithful in the walk with him. It's really really important!

2) I've finally changed my phone of 7 years! I know my lovely Samsung phone has been nothing short of wonderful the past 7 years. Really, how on earth can you find a phone that lasts for 7 years and counting!?!! It's still working but it has starting showing signs of aging, just like its owner! LOL Since my mobile contract has ended, I can finally get my hands on the iphone! I'm still trying to get used to it but it's been qutie a pleasure so far. :)

3) Most importantly, I have grown a lot since my turbulent teenage years. I get that a lot from people around me and even I feel it myself. All I can say is THANKS for all your encouragement and I'll give all glory to my Father in Heaven, who has been paving the way for me to grow into who I am right now.
He gave me strength when I need it the most and as a result I become stronger, assurance so that I do not worry, peace so that I can be clear-minded, forgiveness so that I can repent, joy so that I can spread his love, love so that I can dispel hatred. I am still learning, with God's love, nothing is impossible!

So what's there not to love about being 24?

1) I need to be more responsible. Towards my work and my family and friends. I've been one inconsiderate selfish girl and it's easy to forgive me when I was younger. The grace period is up, I really need to be more accountable.

2) Age is catching up. My body isn't what it used to be. I dunno if you feel that in your mid-twenties but I feel lethargic easily. I need 12 hours of sleep everyday or else I'll feel light-headed and tired the whole day. I can no longer keep up with my tuition kids when we play basketball or tennis. I just can't breathe after half an hour.. Arrgh gotta start working on my stamina!

3) I'm STILL a procrastinator. I procrastinate packing up the room (not packed since last year!), I procrastinate saving up for my business (this is the worst because I can't stop hoarding papers), I procrastinate clearing away the clothes and shoes that I no longer wear (big headache as I've problems storing new arrivals!), I procrastinate even bathing every night (I'll wait till the last hour before I sleep before I sleepily drag myself to the bathroom to have a quick shower and go to bed with half-dried hair). Everyone who knows me knows this really BAD habit of mine!!

Gosh, enough shortcomings about myself for today! I've not been scrapping for a looooong time but I've photos of my birthday party to share!! :) Photobucket

My lovely house!

Photobucket I love this house so much that it slept beside me for two nights! I've finally finished altering the Maya road house over two nights of really hard work! The front of the house! Photobucket I used lots of Crafty secrets family stickers here. You can tell how much I love my G45 papers! The butterflies and the border bottom are from Making Memories. The side of the house Photobucket I spent lots of time on the details of the windows. I'm glad it turned out prettier than I thought! The roof is my sister's favourite part. I wonder if she saw that I attached a cross on it. (My whole family are non-believers, just in case you don't already know) This house is so going to be blessed by God! :) The backyard of the house Photobucket This is MY favourite! I had the idea of making shelves for the rocking horse and clock at my aunt's place days ago. She had a little windmill house and it has shelves of flowers in it. Praise the lord for the inspiration! The other side of the house Photobucket Did I mention that I spent a crazy 3.5 hours on die cutting and painting the fences? I'm such a sloooow scrapper.. But the Sizzix fence die is really one of the best buys I've ever made! :P Photobucket More details below... Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Okay, your eyes can rest now! More pictures coming up in the next few days! Thanks Pooi and my other kids for encouraging me to try for the DT call. It's really fun to go on a scrap maniac the past few nights!
