Happy birthday to me! :)

Sorry for being away for the past couple of days..
The hectic period will not be over till the end of the month but I'm trying my very best to stay in touch here! :)

First of all, I sincerely want to thank those of you Sweeties who still dropped by here to give me the most wonderful, uplifting comments.
I'm grateful for these priceless reminders that I'm not forgotten. So thank you for that!
I can't wait to visit your blogs soon once I'm done with that hectic teaching job of mine. :)

Secondly, I just want to wish myself a Happy Birthday here!
I've no time to celebrate with my family and friends just so you know..
It's gotten really depressing for me to turn down their requests for lunch and dinner dates.
I know I shouldn't put work before them but I simply CANNOT leave my students on their own for the coming examinations.
If I were to do that, I'll feel guilty while having that birthday dinner or lunch..
Even if I have to sacrifice dinner to just help them with one more question for the day, I'll gladly do so.
I'm that passionate or rather stubborn (as termed by the unhappy boyfriend). laughs
See how HAGGARD I've become after working every single day of the week for the past few months?
Even my normally good skin starts protesting with a series of eczema! EEKS!
Don't even get me started on the eyebags and dark eye circles.. :(

Anyway, you know I love to do giveaways especially on special days like these!
At least I gotta celebrate here on my little blog.
So, all you need to do is to leave a little comment here, telling me how you'll celebrate your birthday if you've NO TIME.
It's just for fun! :P

I've a couple of giveaways to do!
Sorry for not loading the pics up due to time constraint but these are the giveaways for my nicest readers in the world!
1) A pack of SEI papers and embellishments
2) A vintage kit with seam bindings, prima roses, little tags, ticket stubs and resin flower appliques
3) A set of papertrey ink stamp from the latest release (I ordered one more set especially for you!)
You know how crazily obsessed I've been over Papertrey ink recently!
So I just want to share what I love with you!

If you want some nice clothes from Fondrey, head over to my other blog for the giveaways!
I'm giving away TWO Fondrey vouchers worth $10 each! :)

Alrighty mateys, I shall end the post with my favourite picture of us taken like a month ago!
He's bringing me somewhere romantic for dinner later today.
I have to postpone one class for this dinner so it better be good! :)

Is that annual blues for real?

Sorry for not blogging as often as I would like to.
I've been holding back most of the time because I'm going through a rough time recently and I am not sure if I want to spoil your day if you're hopping for some inspiration or happy posts.

Well, I'm definitely going to be positive about this so just bear with me while I rant alright? :P

It's a lot to do with my relationship with my loved ones.
I have been working too hard I guess.
I always tell people who tell me to relax that I've a goal, to earn as much as I can so that my Dad can retire right away. If only I am capable enough.
Sadly, it doesn't take any brain to know it will backfire.
Working day and night, not having adequate sleep and even forgetting to take my meals regularly have become the worries of my parents.
I thought that they would be proud to have a daughter working hard to give them a better life but it turned out all wrong.
Then I stopped in my tracks, and realised that I've no one to turn to when I want to relax.
I've been too indulgent in my work that I forgot to make time to bond with friends, family and the boyfriend.
I've idolised working for money and not for God.
What an ugly confession but how real it seems to me right now,
just after a session of quiet time with God.
He is amazing, really.
Makes me see things as clear as day.
So I've decided to relax a little, on weekends.
Not to worry so much about the never-ending work, not to worry about my students' exams too much, not to worry about feeling guilty when I don't work for a day (criteria for a true blue workaholic by the way).

I'm going to make my days more meaningful by just spending the day with my boyfriend at the beach(we've never done that!).
By having a long dinner with my parents without having to rush off to do my work.
Waking up early to go for a run and a swim perhaps?
I've not done such healthy routines for a long, long time..

Tough times don't last, tough people do.
That's my birthday resolution this year.

What do you think? :)

Scrappy Sunday #8

Hello!

Apologies for logging in late if you've been keeping your eyes peeled here!
My past weekends including this (no less) have been burnt out by my students' exams.
And the bad news is, it's not gonna end anytime soon! :(

I can't tell you how tired I am but I really look like the most lethargic girl in the world that my mum felt sorry for me and showed it for the first time in her life.
I really gotta stop the old folks from worrying about me, my late nights, workaholic nature and all.

Still, I kept something to share this post.
Something I've done quite some time ago for a class sample (again!).
This is it!
Papers from Websters pages lullaby lane collection, swirls from Prima, butterflies punched out from Martha Stewart punch, roses from prima, alphas from Websters pages, pearl string from stash, Pearl sticklers from Rangers, love verse stamped from Catslife Press
Websters pages again, with a punch of love.
I can't tell you how appreciative I am to be invited for classes and birthday parties for little kids.
To spread the love of scrapbooking is one of the best things in my life right now and I wish time could stop just a little longer for me to immerse myself in the joy of creating.

Thanks for stopping by.
Please pray for my boyfriend's faith to be unshaken in unfortunate events (he lost his new iphone despite being extremely careful with it and it happened too many times to be called a coincidence).
I'm equally upset that there're thieves or finders keepers out there who could live without a single trace of guilt that they've ruined someone's day or even faith.

Do keep the prayers coming for my boyfriend and the sinner who stole his phone.
Thank you and have a blessed week ahead! :)

I love this necklace!

So this happened on one impulsive shopping night.
For other similar gorgeous jewelries, visit Tamar's etsy store!
All it takes is an instant for me to fall in love with this gorgeous, cheerful necklace.
I know I'll become the most beautiful girl if I own this. LOL
I should never get to rest even for a few mins, I'll just shop anywhere, anytime!!!

Hi Scrappy Sundays readers!

Good Sunday morning!
It's been some time since I checked in here.
I'm terribly sorry I had to miss last week's Scrappy Sunday due to the overwhelming workload upon my schedule.
Fondrey's been a big part of my life now that all my weekday afternoons before teaching are devoted to purchasing, stock taking and invoicing etc..

Nonetheless I managed to squeeze in time to make some little cards over the week for two lovely friends' birthdays.

This is for Kay! I can't resist using the Crafty Secrets stamps  and the new Prima roses!
The image of the girl is stamped and painted over with Gesso so that it doesn't compete for visual attention with the beautiful scroll with the birthday greetings.
I'm beginning to like using Kraft for my card base. Yummmm..
Kraft Cardstock from Ac, Papers from Melissa Frances and Prima Marketing, Prima roses, Stamped images from Crafty secrets, Handscrunched Seam bindings in Earth (email me to purchase), pink lace ribbon from stash, borders punched from Martha Stewart, Copic markers, Gems from Heidi Swapp, vintage brown ink

Details
I coloured the flowers and leaves (on scroll) with Copic markers. I'm now itching to buy more of that addictive markers. :)
The scroll is also inked on the edges to make it stand out.
Oh, I was thinking that it'll be lovely to stamp her birthday on the inside of the card. I used brown ink for the date and purple vintage ink for the floral wreathe from the same set.

This is the other favourite card of mine.
For Amy dear whom I assumed loves strawberries! hah
Basic grey patterened paper for background, jar and strawberries cut outs, gingham ribbon and lace ribbon from stash, Seam bindings handscrunched, stamped images are all from Papertrey ink, vintage ornamental resin from Melissa Frances, Pearl button from stash
 Details

Before it slipped my mind, congrats to Papercandy for the Websters 6 by 6 lullaby lane paperpad giveaway!

Please drop your mailing address at wuling_18@hotmail.com dear! :)
 Thanks for playing along ladies!
My heart is filled with gratefulness each time I see you leaving encouraging comments or emails.
I can't think of anything else but appreciation from you to keep me going in my scrapping journey.
If you have some time to spare, do hop over to my friend's new venture here or here.
She's selling art prints that belong to a series called "the prosaic series", which illustrates the everyday life, the common people and readymade objects.
Basically, all current art prints belong to a series called "the prosaic series", which illustrates the everyday life, the common people and readymade objects.
They are A6 size postcards , hand-drawn illustrations combined with digital editing, high quality prints.
She's only selling a card for $2, and $7 for a set of 4. If you find handmade cards pricey, her hand-drawn cards will definitely be a good alternative.
Have a God blessed Sunday! :)
Just to share a quote that the boyfriend and I conversed on the road:
Like grass and flowers, we and our achievements will wither and die.
Only God's words and glory will live forever.
