ponyo said... Hi, Lynn! I'm from inspireMe! I posted your link to my blog!!! You and your works are really pretty! I'll come and visit again!

Dear dyllis and ponyo, please email me your address at wuling_18@hotmail.com for the goodies delivery!
I've decided to split the RAK so that I can give more!
Only in giving will you receive, don't you agree? :)

Talking about giving spirit of this Christmas,
will you like to help World Vision by buying a kit from Prima?
I'm definitely getting a kit or two because it is a blessing to help!
So if you like, do head over to Iris's blog for more details!
You can also email me at wuling_18@hotmail.com if you like to share the shipping cost to Singapore! :)

35 In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.' Acts 20:35

I'll end the post with some cards I've made over the weekend..

she and her nostalgia I

she ran back home, flipped open her diary and wrote her tears away.
it was the first time being ostracised by the whole class, but sadly not the last.
she wrote about how she refused to give up on her childhood crush of four years six months and offended the most popular girl in class.

so there she was sitting all alone in the crowded canteen on the first day of term 3 with hate letters from all her closest friends.
the floodgates could no longer bear the weight of her overloaded sadness and bewilderment.
she had no time for questions, let alone answers.
fatefully, under the rainy grey skies, she had not an ounce of energy left in her to hold her head up; no discerning power to know that even if the whole world is against her, she may not be wrong.
knowing she could no longer travel home with the childhood crush, she ran all the way home by herself, running not to God but to the little diary she kept since 7.

at that time, the little diary is her only comforter.
if only..
if only she had known God earlier..

The winner

of the Christmas cards giveaway goes to

Congratulations lucky! lol

Will 'mail' it to you when we meet this Friday! :)

One more good news to share:

The deadline of the RAK will be extended to next Monday as I'm still cleaning up my room furiously!

I'm going back to this mess!

Look at the bags and bags of papers and embellishments on the floor, with more hiding in the cupboards!
Arrgh!!
Does it scare you?
I'm feeling kind of embarrassed sharing such an indecent photo of my room, hopefully I make up to it by transforming it into a lovely room with the new furniture coming its way in a few days' time!
Sigh.. the life of a scrappaholic!

I'll end this supposedly short post with a sneak peek of part of the RAK.

I've such a big pack that I'm considering drawing 2 winners for the RAK.

What do you think?!

What I'm busy with...

It's a huge relief.
Because I've been thinking of selling my designs for the longest time.
Because I need more money to hoard more goods.
Because I love to challenge myself to improve on making those pretty stuff.

I've finally started my etsy store!
It's amazingly tiring to even upload a few cards up there.
The process of making them, photo-taking them, editing them, doing the descriptions and shipping costs and so on..
They can really take some years off my life!

Photobucket
These are the cards I'm selling in packs of 4. And I'm giving away one of these packs right here! So do leave a comment here to win this pack. The deadline will be the same as what I've set in the previous post. That's because I don't want you to get the pack after Christmas.

It's all in the name of love.
So do pay my humble little store a visit for last minute Christmas cards shopping (if you haven't already done so)! :)

Thanks to those who have encouraged and still are doing so in getting me to do what I love.
The boyfriend, as usual, has been my greatest fan, critic, mentor and everything else.

I won't know what to do this Christmas without you lovely people! :)
Photobucket

PS: Do also comment in the previous post for the giveaway, it's going to be quite a ton as I've discovered more replicas of products I've hoarded.

THE HORRORS OF CLEARING UP. AARGH!

Monday, December 7, 2009

Hi December!

December turns out to be a reminder of how fast the year whizzes by.
I used to think that as we grow older, the year tends to proceed faster.
Until my 11 year-old cousin came to me and said, "Isn't this year fast? Too fast for me."
So, maybe the years are going faster, generally.

Photobucket A picture of us early this year.
In a blink of an eye, Izzy, Jing, Angie, Clar, Lump and I have graduated.
Now Angie has left for Holland to pursue her second degree in fashion,
Jing wrapping up her pupillage studies and she's starting work proper in her law firm,
Izzy has gotten a job with the ministry of environment,
Clar has been working in a job agency right after graduation,
Lump, the accountant is currently on the move to a temporary place while her house is being renovated.
Fun is still in school, but doing so well with her side job of web-designing. She's super talented. You have to check her out.
And I, I'm still the same, minus the hassle of waking up 2 hours before class to travel to my campus.
I still teach and scrap and procrastinate.

Anyway, I will love to post up more photos of the projects I've done for the Christmas crop but life gets in the way.
I got into a minor car accident but was left unscathed, thank God.
In the midst of cleaning up my room, which is a major headache because of the humongous amount of stash lying in bags and bags.
Planning a party for my students, which involves spending hundreds of dollars on presents, engaging the help of the boyfriend and cousins, checking up the perfect venue, deciding what food to serve and etc etc. It's really tiring I tell you!
Also on the table is the planning of my schedule for next year, I've been blessed with more new students without additional advertising cost, which I'm also thankful for. This just means more income for more papers! Yeah!!
I'm also working out a saving plan with the boyfriend, who insists that I need to STOP saying that I'll save and START saving. I badly want my own educational center but money is one big problem, so I better get started.

So, how's your December coming along?
Do share it here and I'll pick a winner for a RAK(remember I've a humongous amount of stash?), an idea of it will be posted real soon!
The deadline will be... in a week's time!

Till then, God bless!

On a Webster papers roll..

I'm really guilty.
Guilty of hoarding too many papers and not using them enough.
So God sent the 12 days of Christmas Crop by Webster to relieve the guilt.
In the midst of cropping non-stop and surviving on 3-hour sleep every single night,
I discovered that I've at least 4 papers of each paper from Winter Wings and Home for the Holidays collection, and all the beautiful embellishments except the trims!!
I can't tell you how sad I'm over not owning the trims as my LSS has not brought them in.

Never mind about the trims (crossing my fingers they will arrive real soon!),
I've fabulous projects to share!
They're fabulous because Webster has such amazingly talented design team members!!
Their ideas are really wonderful, I can never think of them, seriously!!

Day 3 - Hanging photo frame

Photobucket

I love this so much!! It's a gift to the boyfriend's family, now hanging in their living room. Warms the whole place instantly I tell you!!
And I am really in awe of Wendy's idea of soaking the paper to mould it as I like.
I've so much fun doing it but the tip is to use papers of cardstock thickness so that it doesn't tear easily. The Webster papers are just exactly the right papers to soak!

These are the details:

Day 4 - Glass frame inspired by Iris

I'm a big fan of Iris's work so I was so glad to have her hosting this lovely challenge of revamping an old photo frame glass.
This is Mr boyfriend and me, looking lovey-dovey.
Photobucket
It's the first time I'm using such a color combination for Christmas-inspired projects and it turned out really decent-looking!

I love it so much, do you?!

Thanks so much for all the wonderful ideas, they really help me grow tremendously as a scrapper in such a short span of time and I'm sure to have a hangover after the crop!!

Elated!

Yes this is exactly what I'm feeling right now!

I was dragging myself home after a hard day's work, having just complained to the boyfriend that this must be the worst day this year till I checked my email and found out that my 'Santa's gems' altered frame has been selected as the banner of the week here!
The icing on the cake has to being chosen as the winner of the very first challenge of the 12 days of Christmas Crop!

I can't help grinning from ear to ear everytime I log into the site because I can see my beautiful cousins' smiling faces greeting me!

I'm also really grateful for all the wonderful comments received from the ever-friendly ladies at Webster!
Really love this crop to bits!

Will share this before I go off to make more stuff!
This is made for the 2nd day of the crop: Beautiful cards inspired by Anabelle O'Malley!

Hello November!

I hope I'm not forgotten!

I've been MIA-ing for a loooong time I know!
October has been really taxing for me!
So many birthday celebrations held that they're leaving me breathless!
So many additional lessons to be arranged for my students' exams!

I've been behind schedule for many deadlines and that's the disadvantage of being self-employed.
I just lack discipline and I'm praying so much for God to give me the strength to meet deadlines that I've set for myself.
Arrgh! I'm such a lazy bum!
I've so many dreams to fulfil and yet I'm merely building castles in the air by not acting on them.
Maybe blogging about this may help make me more motivated to STOP PROCRASTINATING!

Talking about PROCRASTINATING,
I supposed I owed someone a giveaway!
That's like more than a month late and I'm terribly sorry about it so I'm going to post another giveaway (which will not be late!) to make things right, hopefully. That will happen in a week's time because I'm going to do something really drastic!

To clear my MESSY, really MESSSSSSY study cum scrap room!
Before and after pictures of the room will definitely be revealed when the time calls for it! I am going to give out quite a great deal of stuff so watch this space!

So yeah before I forget,
here's the lucky lady who won the giveaway:

24 :)

I turned 24 on 22nd October. It's a love-hate relationship.

The love:

1) I've finally gotten my OWN car! It's a Huge relief, becuase it's not for luxury's sake. Going to and fro from Pasir Ris to Bukit Batok almost 4 times a week is taking its toll on me after 5 years of travelling 3 hours each day. Having fainting spells from motion sickness simply devastates the already uncomfortable commuting of having to squeeze in crowded trains and having to catch the last train home after a long day of work. Trust me when I say it's more of a relief than simply showing off.

I know I may sound pious but I've been humbled by Jesus so much that showing off is the last thing on my mind when I do everything nowadays. I think I've been so blessed to have God in my life so that I stay grounded and faithful in the walk with him. It's really really important!

2) I've finally changed my phone of 7 years! I know my lovely Samsung phone has been nothing short of wonderful the past 7 years. Really, how on earth can you find a phone that lasts for 7 years and counting!?!! It's still working but it has starting showing signs of aging, just like its owner! LOL Since my mobile contract has ended, I can finally get my hands on the iphone! I'm still trying to get used to it but it's been qutie a pleasure so far. :)

3) Most importantly, I have grown a lot since my turbulent teenage years. I get that a lot from people around me and even I feel it myself. All I can say is THANKS for all your encouragement and I'll give all glory to my Father in Heaven, who has been paving the way for me to grow into who I am right now.
He gave me strength when I need it the most and as a result I become stronger, assurance so that I do not worry, peace so that I can be clear-minded, forgiveness so that I can repent, joy so that I can spread his love, love so that I can dispel hatred. I am still learning, with God's love, nothing is impossible!

So what's there not to love about being 24?

1) I need to be more responsible. Towards my work and my family and friends. I've been one inconsiderate selfish girl and it's easy to forgive me when I was younger. The grace period is up, I really need to be more accountable.

2) Age is catching up. My body isn't what it used to be. I dunno if you feel that in your mid-twenties but I feel lethargic easily. I need 12 hours of sleep everyday or else I'll feel light-headed and tired the whole day. I can no longer keep up with my tuition kids when we play basketball or tennis. I just can't breathe after half an hour.. Arrgh gotta start working on my stamina!

3) I'm STILL a procrastinator. I procrastinate packing up the room (not packed since last year!), I procrastinate saving up for my business (this is the worst because I can't stop hoarding papers), I procrastinate clearing away the clothes and shoes that I no longer wear (big headache as I've problems storing new arrivals!), I procrastinate even bathing every night (I'll wait till the last hour before I sleep before I sleepily drag myself to the bathroom to have a quick shower and go to bed with half-dried hair). Everyone who knows me knows this really BAD habit of mine!!

Gosh, enough shortcomings about myself for today! I've not been scrapping for a looooong time but I've photos of my birthday party to share!! :) Photobucket

The beautiful photos are taken by Miao who only stayed for an hour or so! Will be uploading more photos from my camera.
Take care everyone and I'll get back to scrapping soon!
Just in case u're wondering, I've not forgotten about the giveaway!!
Sooo sorry for not posting the winner yet, will be back real soon! :)

Annual blues heating up

I don't know if it's the looming examinations for my tuition kids, or the gazillion things that are left in my mind every single minute (thus I've no time to get down to actually finish them off!), or that I'm mulling over what a procrastinator (=LOSER) I am, or that I'm having birthday blues, or that I've deadlines to meet, or that I'm burnt out as I've been teaching every single day without resting and my weekends are not spared, or that I've mountains of papers to mark and it doesn't help having bags of scrap supplies by the dozens that are not organized, or that I'm stressed out over the birthday party preparations or that I've no idea where to even begin to NOT think about those stuff I've been mulling over... . . . . . . . . . . I'm feeling really depressed right now. So depressed that I ranted at the boyfriend so that he could give me a Big fat scolding which hoepfully would force me to revamp my life. As always, the all-knowing boyfriend knows cajoling and consoling do not work on me. Sigh!!! Sorry for the rants. I know people generally hate emotional posts but I don't want only to blog about happy times and pretend I've the perfect life. On the side note, thanks for leaving your sweet comments in the previous post, I feel better already! I'm gonna post a picture of the goodies and reveal the winner in the next post!

101th post giveaway!

Hello! I think I have missed out on announcing that I'm having a giveaway because the previous post was the 100th post! So I'll make it the 101th post giveaway! =) I'm gonna give away some of my favourite tiny prima roses and flowers, pearl strings, trinket pins from Maya road, a few Webster papers, little charms and a set of thickers! Most of them are the usual items I reach out for when I scrap! All you have to do is to leave a comment here and I'll draw a winner by next Sunday 12 midnight (Singapore time). I've a small request for the winner of the giveaway though! That is to scrap something out of the stash I'm giving out and share with us! I can't wait to see what you can come up with! :) Before I go, I'm gonna share some layouts. Thank God for the recent mojo, I've much to share! Mr & Mrs Santa Photobucket A cute Christmas layout of my parents wearing those cute Santa hats for the first time! Photobucket Photobucket I just realised I love to hand cut images out of paper. It's kind of a random discovery during the crop! lol Anyway I forgot to take pictures during the crop so I'm going to 'steal' the photos from MWL blog to share here soon! I dressed up as a grid girl or racequeen whatever you call it. And I won the best dressed!! Love knows not what time is Photobucket What a romantic title! I should've used this layout for a photo of the boyfriend and I but my friendship with this guy is priceless. lol It's Lionel's birthday and so I scrapped this layout and fell in love with it! His girlfriend wrote on my facebook wall and commented that she loved it too! Photobucket Oh I realised I love to ink too. Photobucket Photobucket This little shelf is my favourite! :) Ps: I'm totally in love with the new webster papers! I think I've said it before but I just can't stop mentioning how beautiful they are. I feel so bad for neglecting the other papers but they're just too attractive to ignore. not your typical kind of girl Photobucket This is done for Emeline's mid-month challenge and it's real fun! Check out the other entries here. The criteria is to use two non-scrapbooking supplies in your layout. I use the white handkerchief and music scores from my old piano book in this layout. I know I'm kind of cheating with the music scores because they appear in papers from time to time but mine is authentically a real music score! Photobucket Photobucket Oh yes. I want to share the journaling here. It's quite funny listing out why I'm not your typical kind of girl. Now the world will know all my quirky habits. HAHA Here it goes: 1. I laugh at a joke 5 minutes after everyone laughs. 2. I do not allow the boyfriend to place his elbows on unclean tables while dining. (He has to eat with his elbows in mid-air like me!) No he doesn't call me Evil, he calls me Anal and proceeds to tell friends whom we're dining with that he's going to dive into the sink to take a bath after meal. -.-'' 3. I sing and dance and do retarded stuff in front of my tuition kids when the need arises. 4. I've this balancing habit. I like to slap my right shoulder if someone slaps on my left and vice versa. WEIRD I know! I've been badly abused ever since the boyfriend spilled the beans in front of my tuition kids.. 5. I love to kick Dad's ass. Don't ask me why! 6. I love to scare Mum because she gives pretty good response. 7. I like playing really sappy music on the piano and look melancholic. 8. I never like being at home till I started scrapping. Everytime we've a public holiday, I tell the boyfriend, "My home or the scrapbook store, the choice is yours!" then gives the sweetest smile possible. :) 9. I like to smell new books and papers or anything new. Do you have any WEIRD habits to share? I want to know that I'm not alone. :P
